Last August, I had the opportunity to tour a really beautiful butterfly garden here in Virginia. It’s staffed by volunteers, many of whom are talented Master Gardeners, and is a wonderful community project. The garden is on the grounds of a historic 1880s schoolhouse, which you can see in some of the photos.
I had a handout detailing all the plantings in the garden, which of course I promptly lost. If I ever find it again, I’ll upload the information so any gardeners out there who’d like to imitate this highly successful garden can have more information! It was alive with pollinators, and as you can see from the photos, the butterflies loved the flowers.
I thought the gallery (below) would be nice to share this time of year, with spring right around the corner (but not here yet, so in the meantime we'll settle for nice photos of flowers)!
